Welsh Veg in Schools is an inspiring initiative led by Food Sense Wales in collaboration with local growers, farmers, and authorities to bring fresh, locally grown, organic vegetables into primary school meals across Wales.
Growing a Healthier Future for Wales
By improving children’s access to healthy local food, supporting Welsh farmers, and reducing carbon emissions, the project is helping to build a stronger, more sustainable local food system. What began in 2022 with a single grower now reaches hundreds of schools, serving over 200,000 portions of Welsh veg, and it’s just the beginning.
